None of the Forerunner series watches pair with Polar at this time, since polar uses analog signals that Garmin Forerunners cannot read.
That depends. Remember: you only need a chest strap for advanced running or swimming dynamics with this specific watch, since your heart-rate readings are wrist-based. If you don't care about monitoring your underwater heart rate, then yes, the Running Dynamics Pod essentially replaces your need for a chest strap. Otherwise, we recommend pairing with the HRM-TRI or HRM-SWIM, depending on your swimming needs.
